The update removes Flash. Taking it off won’t fix or reapply Flash, which makes the process pointless. There’s no harm in deleting it since Flash isn’t inherently dangerous, yet many vulnerabilities have been found. That’s why browsers like Chrome and Firefox once turned it off temporarily or asked users to turn it on for specific sites.
