This behavior is common and often related to game optimization. High FPS at high settings doesn't always mean smooth performance during intense action sequences. It can depend on factors like hardware capabilities, game load times, or background processes. Checking your system specs and updating drivers may help stabilize performance.

It seems like you're observing typical actions in a game. That's perfectly normal behavior.

It's not necessarily weird to hear 60 frames per second drop. The perception depends on the context and audio-visual sync.

Not when performance is in the upper 200s. To maintain 240 fps, you likely need a more powerful GPU.

The performance didn’t drop noticeably because it was already running smoothly at high frames. The variation wasn’t surprising given your system’s capabilities versus the game’s demands. Lowering the background effects and adjusting in-game settings can help stabilize the experience.

You have a 2080 graphics card paired with a Ryzen 3700X processor.

Ok well that variation is probably fine. You can update your nvidia drivers and beyond that there isn't much you can do, its just how it is I guess. If you really want to lock 240 fps your RTX 2080 might just not be able to all the time. Maybe wait for RTX 3070 and RTX 3080 benchmarks for rainbow six siege and look at the average fps and 1% and 0.1% low figures.

It seems the processor might struggle to maintain speed (not used to 3700X power).
