You recently purchased the components and are checking if the RAM fits your motherboard. That’s a good question!
Work is acceptable because the Memory Controller resides on the CPU and the motherboard DRAM lanes are not expected to interfere at 3600MHz.
It should likely function, but be aware of the BIOS update required before starting. I’m not sure if the board includes a BIOS flashback feature for upgrading without a compatible CPU. The CPU’s memory controller needs to handle it, though timing and speed settings might need adjustment based on the SKU and motherboard’s QVL list. It should work without major problems, just keep this in mind.
I reached out to the store owners on the platform I purchased it from, and they confirmed the BIOS had been updated for the CPU.
It functioned well with my setup. I use the same hardware (Asus Strix B450-F Gaming, Ryzen 7 3700X, Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB). Just remember to use the D.O.C.P. for your RAM. I also bought two of these kits and one had a problem, so I filed an RMA. Corsair sent me a different model: Dominator Platinum RGB 16GB. Their profiles are slightly varied—Dominator Platinum RGB 3600MHz vs. Vengeance LPX 3600MHz with different settings. Will this work with your other configuration? Thanks!
Great guy, I'm not sure about your CPU status, but have you updated it? How much did you upgrade?
I didn't do it. I don't really enjoy OC, and I lack sufficient knowledge to feel confident about it. Also, I'm still relying on the regular cooler.
I managed to start and install the operating system, though I kept encountering a lot of error messages and odd problems. Once I updated the BIOS, everything functioned smoothly. Additionally, before updating the BIOS, I struggled with setting up my M.2 NVMe SSD, but it resolved the issue as well.
