Hi, I noticed the notches aren’t aligning as expected even though both are DDR2. Could there be another factor affecting the fit? I might have to return them either way. Thanks, Coolxm

What kind of motherboard are you using? Does it support DDR2? Have you tried flipping the sticks?

You're likely examining ECC or registered cards.

It was an older server board with DDR2 modules already installed. The previous ones used M395T2953CZ4-CD51 chips, each 1 GB from Samsung, and there were also two 512 GB drives. The ones I purchased are HMP31GP7AFR4C-Y5, 8 GB from Hynix, and I confirmed they are DDR2 server sticks. Both are ECC modules if that's correct.
