Hello, welcome to the discussion. I reside in New Delhi, India, where summers reach up to 45°C. In 2017 I installed an i7 7700K with Corsair H80i V2 on a ROG Strix motherboard. During peak times, CPU temperatures could hit around 95°C when pushed too hard. Recently, the i7 failed just a month before its warranty expired, and Intel issued a full refund. With that money I’m planning to upgrade my system with a new motherboard and a new processor. I’m thinking about getting a Ryzen 5 5600X, which is quite expensive in India and currently out of stock. I’m not willing to wait for another overpriced CPU, so I’m considering the i5 10600K (125W TDP). Can someone confirm if this AIO setup with a thick radiator and two 120mm fans can support the 10th-gen processor? It seems capable of handling my previous i7 7700K (95W TDP), though not exceptionally well. Are there any users currently running both these components together? Also, do you think this AIO will work with the i5 10600K? Thank you very much for your help.

Choosing a 120mm AIO isn't ideal for any processor. Opt for an air cooler instead—it usually works better and offers superior performance, or go with a 280mm+ model. I picked this advice after a tough experience with a Q9650 using a 120mm AIO.

Using a tiny mITX unit won't support the 10600k max OC—you'll need to reduce clock speed for lower power consumption. AIOs tend to underperform overall. In a compact ITX space, Zen 2 still offers better efficiency compared to older generations.

Thank you for your response. I completely understand your perspective. However, regarding the H80i V2, it features a 120mm cooler with a thicker radiator and two 120mm fans on each side (please refer to the attached images again). This design technically results in a 240mm AIO, which is its main advantage and sets it apart from many high-quality air coolers available. I’m still unsure if this aligns perfectly with my expectations, so I wanted to clarify. Thanks!

No, I don’t own a mini ITX case. I use a Corsair Spec 03. This was my very first PC build in 2017, and I made the mistake of getting an H80i V2 instead of an H100i V2. You’re correct—I won’t be able to run the high-performance 10th generation Intel with its 125W TDP.

I achieved this, but it wasn't the case. Even if it were, a $90 air cooler such as the Dark Rock Pro 4 surpasses a $90 240mm AIO like the Corsair H100i.
