I’m considering switching from your i7-6700 to a Ryzen 5 5600X because of the stuttering issues. I want to confirm if the problem lies with the CPU itself or something else. Your setup includes an RTX3070, 24GB RAM at 2133Hz, and a B150M motherboard. The older i7 caused bottlenecks, but the stutter persists even after updating to Battelfield V, which was only three years later. It seems more related to loading and movement between areas. I’m curious if other factors—like drivers, background processes, or even the SSD speed—might be contributing.

I'm running an 8-year-old Xeon with a GPU, probably not the problem.

What settings are set for your RAM? And are you using the lowest possible configuration for performance?

It varies by the type of stutter we're discussing. If it's constant or occasional, unlocking FPS might cause temporary dips as the CPU works harder. I'm familiar with how CPU-related stutter feels—my i7-6700 runs well in Battlefield 5 without issues, and most modern games should handle around 90-120 FPS smoothly.

I have two identical models on slots 2 and 4, and one different model on slot 3. Recently, I removed the odd RAM stick, and the performance feels better, though I'm unsure if it's just a mental effect.

You're absolutely correct. Dropping the odds stick can actually enhance performance. With three sticks, it operates in a flex mode that runs faster than single-channel but still falls short of dual-channel capabilities. As I mentioned before, your RAM might be slow—consider upgrading to 2666 MHz or higher if possible.

The experience seems inconsistent during fast character movements or quick camera shifts, especially after respawning in Battelfield V.

The B150M mortar operates up to 2133Mhz.

Sure, that makes sense. Using dual channel should help if you're running low on RAM.

It seems like you're suggesting a change, right? Glad you could make it work!
