Hello, I just acquired a spare CPU – an Intel i7 10700E. I considered upgrading my current system but noticed the motherboard CPU compatibility lists didn’t mention this model. I’m curious if it can work with standard boards like Gigabyte B460 or B560, even though they aren’t listed, since the Intel site says it uses an LGA1200 socket.

The CPU appears as a bare chip placed directly on top, with BGA packages attached underneath. It isn't compatible with standard LGA boards, so you'll need to source a compatible board and use a rework station to attach it properly.

Confirming it's not the 10700F model. It should function on all Z490/Z590 boards and most of the earlier B series boards from that time, provided the VRM is robust enough.

Integrate it directly into the board and check functionality; it should work given it's a standard LGA 1200 CPU.
