Hi, your CPU is already at 4.0 GHz, which is the top speed for your i5 4690k. Going beyond that won’t help much since it’s already maxed out. Overclocking further isn’t practical or safe right now.

As long as performance stays steady, there’s no issue here. Ultimately, it’s all about what the K-series CPU is meant for.

I understand it can handle at least 4.4, but I only managed 4.0 for safety. With my Hyper 212 EVO, that’s a bit of a cap. A used Dark Rock model around 50 USD seems fair in my area. I’m unsure if the extra few hundred MHz would be worth it.

You can achieve more than 4.4 with your CPU using a hyper212. With a solid enough processor, you might reach about 4.6ghz, though it depends on the voltage levels you can maintain. I’d check how much overclocking is possible before hitting 100°C (especially with AVX loads) and consider upgrading the cooler if needed.

You're likely correct. Achieving around 4.6-4.7 GHz suggests it might not be necessary to purchase a new cooler.
