We started with what we did first, and we think that led to the problems we're facing now. I understand my Windows 8 disc functions properly, and I would really like to use it again.

It shouldn't create problems since the ISO must match the disc that was burned by MS

I understand that a Windows 8 key isn't compatible with Windows 8.1, so it's likely not the reverse.

What is this? It seems you're questioning how someone could claim something without proof. You didn't explain how to confirm the file is original. OP, this won't work.
