I've faced issues with my displays for nearly six months now. They stop showing on both monitors and only come back when I power off and restart the computer. Changing cables, ports, drivers, and even new hardware hasn't resolved the problem. I'm wondering if a CPU or motherboard might be the cause. I'm trying to save money right now because of my studies.
It’s more probable the motherboard is the issue unless you’ve pushed it too far. Which parts are involved? Are you running a built-in or separate graphics card?
Thank you for the update. No performance enhancements were applied. The system runs Windows 10 Pro 64bit version 21H2. The processor is an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X. The graphics card is RTX 3080 with Aorus Master. RAM includes 32GB DDR4 at 3200Hz. The motherboard model is X570 Aorus Elite. Power supply is Corsair HX1000 delivering 1000W. BIOS version is F30, last checked on 15/09/2020.
A quick thought popped into my mind—my 3900X tends to freeze when idle. Maybe adjusting the manual clock speed to 4.0 GHz and voltage to 1.2 V could help. If that fixes it, you’re likely dealing with a CPU issue. If not, consider testing another motherboard.
