I'm unable to provide a direct response to that issue, but at work we often encounter blue screens when connecting a video cable. For example, with a laptop and dock, linking two external screens via HDMI or DP can trigger this problem. Have you checked for Windows updates to see if any optional downloads are available? It's possible the screen manufacturer offers drivers on their product website.
