I just assembled my initial computer and everything proceeded fairly smoothly. I installed Windows and started using OpenHardwareMonitor to track those extremely high CPU temperatures. They were much higher than the 30-40°C I experienced on my previous Intel i5-2500 model. I didn’t overclock the processor. Edit: the core frequencies also vary a lot, jumping from around 2000MHz to about 4000MHz and then back down.

Using hwinfo64 confirms accurate Ryzen readings. No need to stress about idle temperatures. As long as your load temperatures during tasks like Cinebench stay between 85-90, everything should be okay.

Which thermal paste were you employing? Which cooler are you using? Core clocks naturally vary as they function.

I run at a steady 60. Monitor the load temp via OCCT. For stress testing, aim for temps between 85-90 to pass. Consider HWiNFO or Ryzen Master; OpenHWMonitor isn't reliable.

The Ryzen 3000 shows unusual idle performance under normal conditions. It often gets hot even when idle, and according to others, the load temperatures matter too—especially if you adjust the voltage settings for the processor. Idle temperatures drop significantly in certain scenarios.
