Hello, your last update was about a new laptop for your sister; the support was excellent! The Lenovo IdeaPad U430 Touch will be the choice at the moment. There seems to be a potential problem with the memory. Do you think 4 gigabytes of RAM is sufficient for Windows 8.1 to run smoothly? I couldn't locate an 8 gig model with an SSD available in Belgium. Grtz

There’s plenty available. Both the lowest and suggested RAM for Windows 8(.1) 64-bit is 2GB. My laptop runs an i3 with 4GB RAM plus a 128GB SSD, and it works great. Browsing is fine and even handles PhotoShop well.

I am absolutely certain she has never come across the topic of ram management.

Sure, 4GB should be sufficient for most games, as long as you don’t have too many background processes running.
