Hey guys I currently play on a ps4. I plan to build a pc in April. I just wanted to know whether 1080p will be good enough for gaming. I have never experienced 1440p and I have heard that once I am used to 1440p, 1080p looks bad, which means my ps4 will look bad, which I don't want. I don't care about screen real estate. I will use it only for gaming. So 1080p or 1440p? Any reply will be appreciated.

1080p works well now and will continue to do so until the next major console release or update

Your budget and country are the same overall. The main difference lies in resolution—1440p 27" matches 1080p 22/24" in PPI. You're looking for something higher like 27" 4K or a 1080p 144Hz screen.

i've used 1440p for a few years now, no issues going back to 1080p (especially since i play on the ps4 quite often). there's an appreciable difference. the image is sharper and more detailed, and it's a nice middle ground if you can't run 4K.

24 inches at 1080p or 27 inches at 1440p—either option will look much sharper than the PS4.

No problem, just an Xbox 420.

They plan to release another version under the same name, Xbox One, since it’s the essential one they’re focusing on.

Games are designed to appear sharp at 1080p and likely will for a long time. When you switch to 720p, you’ll see a noticeable contrast. While higher resolution enhances visuals, it doesn’t mean lower quality formats are outdated.
