Restart the interface, access a fresh tty shell (press ctrl+alt+f2), enter your username and password to log in. To refresh xfce4, run startxfce4 or restart the lightdm service with sudo.

He’s choosing Lubuntu, but xrdp is still a thing. It depends on what you need.
