I purchased an XPG SX8200 Pro with 512GB storage and noticed performance issues when installing apps on the SSD. For instance, downloading games causes Google to lag, YouTube becomes choppy, and Discord calls slow down. I ran a CrystalMark test showing much lower speeds than advertised. After checking the controller, it’s the SM2262G. My main concern is whether I should request a refund or if the problem lies with my PC. Thank you for reading.
They are verified in a blank state, and SSDs usually experience reduced performance when storage capacity decreases. You might want to use the Windows defrag utility.
Check if the problem occurs while downloading or after installation. If it matches what you expect when your internet is fully used, it likely relates to your connection speed rather than your device. Does the issue persist even if you limit the download speed to a few Mbps below your actual connection?
