If you have an Xonar or similar Asus soundcard and are facing driver issues with Windows 10, consider using modified drivers from UNi Xonar. While they function, I experienced significant DPC latency problems, making them impractical despite the lower latency version being better. Another approach is to use drivers from a different Windows version—Windows 8.1 64-bit worked for me, though results may vary.

I'm not sure what you're referring to, but I think the latest versions of these drivers come from C-Media (the company that made the DAC chip). Updating them directly isn't necessary—just ensure the version is compatible with Windows 10. The supported OS should be changed accordingly.

I thought ASUS wasn't updating the Xonar drivers at all, while the working ones stayed in beta for about two years.

I just looked and found that the 8.1 64-bit driver for my card is a beta released in January of last year. It might be that newer soundcards now offer improved compatibility.
