You're considering an i5 13600k build with a K model CPU and a 3600MHz RAM kit on a B660 board. It's worth checking if XMP support works without a K CPU—yes, you can enable XMP on the RAM to boost performance, even if the CPU isn't a K model.

XMP support is available on all CPUs, but starting from the 12th generation, many non-K processors have fixed their VCCSA voltages, making it hard to reliably reach above 3600 without additional hardware.

We understand whether 13 Gen C processors can handle 3600 consistently. It doesn't really matter since I'll just use a 3600mhz processor. Updated October 9, 2022 by Crazycatrox

We haven't confirmed this for the non-K sections yet. It's unlikely they wouldn't, given the improved memory controller, though we're still uncertain.

This information is being added for future reference. The current lowest tier H610 chipset lacks XMP support, and it seems the lower-end 700 series chipset likely shares this limitation as well. This applies specifically to the user's B660 board but is included here for completeness.

The i5 13600K backs DDR4 3200 and DDR5 4800 standards. Their memory compatibility remains stable throughout the range, suggesting that even models not in the 13th generation should follow the same official guidelines.
