Running RAM at its default speed gives me stable performance without problems. When I turn on XMP Profile 1, display drivers start timing out within a minute or so when I open my browser (Opera GX works fine). This helps me: - tweak the memory speed ratio to 32.00 for a boost to 3200 MHz (the max supported for my 5600X) - use my PC and play games smoothly without crashes - still prefer the full 3600 MHz speed despite the cost. Disabling XMP provides some relief, but it drops me back to 2133 MHz with no improvement. Updating BIOS didn’t make much difference, and changing the GPU driver settings hasn’t helped either. Some suggest adjusting the voltage manually in BIOS, but that didn’t resolve the issue. I’ve tried raising the voltage up to 1.36 V or 1.37 V, but it caused instability—black screens and power button problems followed. According to HWInfo64, my RAM voltage is around 1.404 when XMP is active at 3600 MHz. It seems my motherboard might be sending too much voltage in XMP mode. Should I consider a manual memory overclock to reach the advertised speeds? Here are my specs for reference: CPU – Ryzen 5 5600X (latest drivers), GPU – PowerColor Hellhound RX 6700XT (23.5.2), Motherboard – Gigabyte Aorus B550I Pro AX Rev 1.2, BIOS – FBe (newest), RAM – G Skill Trident Z NEO 3600 MHz CL18, Power Supply – Coolermaster V850 SFX Gold. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

you might be reducing performance by lowering the frequency, similar to using a smaller bottle than needed.

Your RAM is installed on A_2 and B_2. I’m not certain your mainboard supports that configuration, but I confirmed the RAM is set to 1.4 volts.

You prefer a steady pace over speed, and I’d favor a reliable setup.

The motherboard and RAM might not be compatible. The CPU should work up to around 3800, possibly 4000. You could swap the memory or lower it to 3200. It’s also possible you have a faulty board for memory expansion or a CPU that only reaches 3200.
