XMP profile issues with Ryzen 3700X
Hi, I purchased a new PC for Christmas but experienced some crashes and instability issues. A closer look revealed that my RAM functions properly without XMP enabled. I ran the latest memtest and found no errors. I attempted to adjust voltage and frequency settings, but those changes didn’t help. My previous setup was straightforward, so I lack experience troubleshooting RAM problems. Here’s what I have:
- Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite
- Ryzen 3700X
- Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3200mhz (CMW32GX4M4C3200C16)
My aim is to achieve zero errors in memtest. Thanks in advance!
Adjust clock settings directly in BIOS or install Aida64, then follow the SPD guidelines for DRAM voltage and speed.
It's possible you have a faulty kit, try getting a replacement first before things go wrong (I've faced this too). I got two bad kits in a row from HyperX only when I applied pressure to the side of the stick. Avoid doing that. I also had similar issues with XMP settings.
Oh dang.. might be best to take it to a PC shop then to test out different components, It's difficult to diagnose it yourself if you don't have parts to spare, and since you're on your 3rd Kit there's no clear answer of what's wrong, you can try remounting CPU or decrease the cooler pressure slightly but other than that there's not much else to do.
I can verify the kit on a friend's PC within a week or so... I allow the test to complete; it seems XMP might be faulty given this BIOS version.
When using Aida64, navigate to motherboard -> SPD to access the complete timing table or proceed to bios. Refer to the SPD documentation page 27-28 (access via tweaker menu): https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/M...wifi_e.pdf
I'll review the changes made to the timings. So far, the system is functioning without issues. Would you like me to include any unspecified timings in the update?
