I've encountered similar problems with my system. It seems the RAM behavior changes based on XMP profiles. Try disabling XMP temporarily and see if the crashes stop. Also, ensure your motherboard supports the RAM type and verify the correct specifications in BIOS. If the issue persists, consider checking for any firmware updates or consulting MSI support.

Verify the RAM placement in the designated ports. This might explain why only 8GB appears. It should be installed in A2/B2.

But if I disable XMP, the RAM appears as 8GB instead of its true capacity. I’m not sure if XMP is actually overclocking. Thanks for explaining. BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. 1.60, March 6, 2019 – should I update the BIOS?

My bio was from 2019, but updating to the latest version in 2022 resolved the issue. Appreciate everyone's support.
