Hello everyone
I've reviewed numerous threads both here and elsewhere about difficulties with the XMP profile for my memory. I’ll start by listing my system details (also found in my signature).

Mobo: Asus Z270 Tuf Mark 2
CPU: Intel I7 6700k
Memory: Corsair CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 - 16gb 2x8 15-17-17-35 CL15 3000mhz

This is my first setup after moving from a 1150 socket build. The current problem is using the XMP profile for my memory. I previously had a pair of 2x8gb g.Skill aegis 3000mhz units, but I couldn’t run them with XMP after several attempts. I returned those units and bought the Corsair memory. Now I notice that when I first access BIOS and set XMP with manual voltage at 1.350, I can save, restart, and boot into Windows (10) without issues. However, during shutdowns for the night and subsequent restarts, the PC fails to restart properly.

My CPU cooler (Corsair H100i GTX) LED doesn’t illuminate, the fans don’t spin, and the system hangs despite everything appearing normal. I need to manually remove the battery and reinsert it to reset the MMO settings so the system can boot correctly.

I’ve tried adjusting the XMP profile settings for both memory sets, but the issue persists. I can’t even override the memory to 2400mhz (the stock is 2133, which works fine with auto settings). I attempted to set it to 2400mhz with auto enabled except for DRAM voltage, which I increased to 1.350, but still couldn’t boot into Windows.

I’ve used XMP profiles on various builds without problems before. It’s worth noting that the Corsair memory I bought yesterday is in QVL version 4.23. I’m planning to shut down everything to verify the exact version I have.

It seems many people are facing a similar issue, so I’m wondering if anyone has found a solution or a manual setting that could help. Could there be a way to adjust the settings manually to resolve this? Also, at what stage do you think I might realize my board isn’t compatible with XMP/OC?

Other system details... Corsair RM750i PSU, 1x Samsung Evo 960 NVMe PCI-E 250gb (Windows) + 2x120gb Hyper X Fury SSDs in RAID 0 and 2x1TB WD Black (RAID 0). Sorry for the lengthy post, but thank you in advance for any responses.

Cheers.

I think I don't really need any more answers. I used the bios' "OC Tuner 1" setting and it achieved a 7% boost, raising the RAM speed to 2933mhz while keeping the same timings as the XMP profile would suggest. I've also heard that some users faced problems with XMP after Asus released the updated bios version "0906".
