XMP functionality is not functioning and the computer is shutting down.
A320M-hdv r4.0 with the latest BIOS and a Ryzen 5 5600 KLEVV DDR4 BOLT X Series PC25600 at 3200MHz Dual Channel, 16GB RAM. XMP isn't supported here. On my system, enabling XMP caused the BIOS logo to disappear before shutdown. Some users suggest swapping RAM slots—A1 B1 to A2 B2 or vice versa—but this model only has two slots.
Consider testing 3000 instead of 3200. Try 1.4v vsoc set to 1.2v. If those don't work, sell the board and purchase a used b3/450—it's an older low-end A320, and you'll get the chance to run the CPU at a solid 4.7-4.8GHz allcore without being limited by the slow stock boost mode. You might also find several affordable b350 tomahawks available for sale.
I'll attempt this first, though I won't dismiss manual entry as suggested. Keeping VSOC on auto seems reasonable at the moment—only consider testing if that doesn't resolve the issue. Activating Gear Down would also be beneficial.
Just try the 2t command; it doesn't appear to affect performance much, so it's probably fine.
Flip a coin for a decision. Gear Down performs better when things get tricky. This is just a quick fix.
i didn't notice that mention earlier. old cpus running fine at 3200MHz are working well. i'll give it a shot. i already plan to upgrade to r5 5600 and swap the motherboard around b450 or b550, though last time it was still over budget. today i saw the prices for b450 and b550 dropping, so maybe next month i'll switch to those models.
