CPU : AMD Ryzen 2600
Motherboard : ASRock B450 Steel legend Micro ATX
Memory : Corsair Vengeance lpx 1x16 gb 3000mhz
GPU : GIGABYTE GTX 1050 3GB
I’m trying to activate XMP for my RAM, but it’s stuck at 2133Mhz. I’ve checked the BIOS multiple times and watched guides, but it doesn’t work consistently. It seems my hardware might be affecting this. The memory slot is A1, but that doesn’t seem relevant. Any advice or fixes would be appreciated. Thanks.

Typically, most Zen+ CPUs are limited to 2933 MHz, particularly with older BIOS releases. A lone RAM stick creates a significant slowdown, around 40% less speed. Upgrading to two RAM modules would improve performance.

Begin with the most recent bios. Then turn on XMP at 2933, and it should function properly.

Ensure you skip tuning or use a very light microlithium like a micron rev if you don’t require more than 16gb. Opt for used 8gb 2666C19 Crucial/Micron bare PCBs, preferably with c9bjz/d9wfr, though d9vpp also functions. You’ll likely need to adjust the RAM settings anyway. Setting voltages around 1.35–1.4 and using standard XMP timings for 3200C16/3600C18 should suffice—this is essentially casual overclocking.
