XMP fails to start the Windows system.
I recently assembled a PC featuring an i7 10700k processor, an ASRock Z490 Steel Legend motherboard, and two G.Skill Sniper X 2x8 cards at 3600MHz in A2 and B2 slots. After installing the drivers, I attempted to enable XMP but encountered issues—Windows reports a “boot failed” error and automatically disables XMP. I changed the slots, but the problem persists. When using only one RAM stick, XMP functions correctly without any boot failures. I also tried the second RAM stick in the same configuration, and it works fine. However, combining both RAM units causes the system to refuse booting. Anyone have suggestions on resolving this?
I encountered a problem when the RAM modules weren't identical. I purchased two Kingston RAM sticks separately. Eventually, I discovered one contained Samsung memory chips while the other had SK Hynix. Did you acquire them together or individually?
Have you checked if your BIOS is updated to the latest release, or are you currently running it?
I attempted it. It didn’t function properly. I then adjusted the frequency manually and discovered that above 3400mhz any setting I entered wouldn’t start the system.
