Xfinity caused issues with my computer.
Once, I mistakenly paused my computer via Xfinity's Xfi control panel. Both Ubuntu and Windows struggled to connect certain apps—OBS, Steam, and Discord Voice Chat—to the internet. Ubuntu couldn't locate packages through the terminal, while both operating systems worked fine with Firefox and Chrome online. I temporarily resolved it using a VPN, but I prefer not to rely on one and avoid costs. Are there any alternatives besides changing internet providers?
You can purchase your own modem to address the problem. LOL. Contact Comcast—they offer remote access and likely have the ability to resolve the issue. If that doesn’t work, try a reset instead of a reboot; resetting the gateway to its factory settings might restore everything. This should clear any misconfigured settings. I haven’t used a Comcast gateway in about five years, so I’m not familiar with the Xfi control system.
I believe you attempted to resume the profile you created. Otherwise, you might consider restarting your router to reset its settings.
Yes, you can execute shell commands via your router to manage network devices or access services.
I resumed it, but a factory reset didn't help. The problem persists.
