Xeon motherboards compatible with ReBar
Xeon motherboards compatible with ReBar
I'm checking if any Xeon boards support a resizable bar feature, or if this is limited to gaming models in the Core line.
Supports dual socket scaling in the first and second generation models, though compatibility varies.
Appears to be until the 8th Core generation Intel didn’t support it. A completely different Xeon would be necessary—cheap and readily available E5 chips won’t suffice. If you’re referring to resizable BAR, you’re likely a gamer, which is why I don’t suggest Xeons in general.
The problem is I can't locate any option. The only board mentioned with rebar support is the EVGA S3 Dark, but it doesn't have two sockets.
The last time I tried using the Arc... It froze my computer completely and I had to restart it by pressing the power button several times. For apps, I play some games but also plan to use Blender eventually, plus just for everyday tasks.
This would focus entirely on Intel's weak driver setups rather than Rbar, with the hope of better performance later. It’s not crucial for everyday desktop tasks. For Blender, I’m uncertain it would make a big difference. I checked some online discussions and found comparisons suggesting it might help, but no one has confirmed a major speed boost in render times.
