XEON E5450 mild Overclocking. Need assistance!
Hi everyone
I used to avoid overclocking, just sticking to safe auto-oc profiles from the BIOS. This time it’s different. I assembled a very affordable gaming PC for a friend with a Xeon E5450 at 3,00ghz, an R9 270X and 8GB DDR3 RAM at 1333mhz. I’m really happy with the build for its price, but I think the Xeon could benefit from some assistance. I’m not very experienced with voltages, though I think a modest 20% increase to around 3,6Ghz would improve performance smoothly without affecting stability too much. Could anyone share BIOS profile details and suggest which settings to adjust? The motherboard is a Gigabyte G41 775.
Thanks in advance!
Using a CPU likely unsupported by the BIOS on your motherboard, aiming for an overclock is possible. Good luck.
