Attempting to connect my Xbox One controller via Bluetooth on my Windows 10 gaming PC has failed, as the system is not detecting it during a device search. My controller is an updated model with a Bluetooth button, and the X button flashes rapidly when pressed for three seconds. I’m uncertain about the required steps to resolve this issue. Should I acquire a USB to Xbox One controller cable for updating the controller? Following instructions from Xbox.com (Windows 10 ver 1803 build 17134.706) did not yield a solution.

You should ideally be on Windows 10 1809 and have you ruled out your BT module on the desktop to be faulty by pairing it with another(donor) system? Speaking of system, please list your specs like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Report back with the version for your BIOS as well.

My Xbox controller problem is resolved. My device utilizes either a USB cable or Bluetooth adapter, and it functions flawlessly using a spare USB cable.
