The laptop being discussed features a 10.1" screen with a 1024x600 resolution, a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, and Windows 7 Starter 32-bit. After many suggestions from my grandmother about upgrading, she recently purchased one. I’ve upgraded it for her, added MS Office, cleared out unnecessary software, and moved all her files from the old machine. Now I own this Packard Bell Dot S notebook with the same specifications. It doesn’t serve its purpose as is, but since a Raspberry Pi can run XBMC, I wonder if a more capable Intel system could support Android apps? Thanks ahead! -Zonus

EDIT: I’m thinking of a lightweight Android or Linux version that can run on it—either downloadable or installed with a touchpad and keyboard. Then I can add an Android app after setup.

Would you prefer to maintain your current windows setup or switch to Kodibuntu? It’s lighter and should perform better.

You're looking to remove windows quickly. I've checked Kodibuntu, but Android ROMs are hard to find there. Since Android is lighter, it could work better, and the Netflix app would be handy. Do you think any options exist?
