During the start-up process he said x670 should remain delayed until 2021, regardless of when Zen 3 arrives this year, and I’m struggling to understand his reasoning. It seems confusing, and he didn’t explain it clearly either. Anyone have any insight on this?

We aren't sure about the launch of x670 yet; keep an eye out for any updates on a new chipset announcement.

They consistently deliver for every generation, making it odd to disrupt their streak of launching a brand-new mobile line with a fresh CPU.

Well since the current chipsets are designed to work with the next CPUs they don't have to rush, so if whatever project scheduling / fab capacity matter requires more time there's no problem with it.

We haven't found or understood it yet, keep waiting to see if it becomes real. Even if a new chipset is announced, we should wait until its release date, since we don’t have the full picture.

I need to wait because I don’t feel confident using the X570 in the long run. The fan isn’t reliable, and I’m worried about the noise it produces.

Consider choosing the B550 model. It offers nearly all the capabilities of the X570. As long as your setup doesn’t require more than one PCIe 4.0 device beyond the GPU and first SSD, the B550 won’t surpass the B550 in performance. The B550 also lacks a fan. I believe AMD decided not to release a new chipset with Zen3 since the AM4 lineup will end with both X570 and B550. After Zen3, we’ll see a different socket and new mobile platforms. I’m unsure what they’d gain from a new chipset at that stage. The X570 provides everything you need except for heavy workstation tasks with many PCIe lanes, making Threadripper the superior choice. It doesn’t make sense to me why they’d want a new chipset when the current options are sufficient.

But you trust case fans, gpu fans, potentially HDD motors but you can't trust a chipset fan? Where is the logic? About a decade ago chipset fans were very common. Guess what? They didn't fail that often and when they did, they were easy to replace.

It's hard to imagine someone wouldn't enjoy x670.
