Attempted to set up Windows on a friend's new system and faced an unusual problem. I tried installing Windows 10 using USB onto a WB Black 1tb M.2 SSD, but the process completed and then restarts again. When I force Windows to boot into the M.2, it prompts "Reboot and select proper boot device." I've already tried using all M.2 slots and updated the BIOS.

No, I'm not leaving the installation media in.

I delete it on restart. Also attempted leaving it in just in case it was acting odd.

Created using the MCT. It's also recognized as a reliable media source since I set up my laptop and installed Windows 10 with the files I've been using for a few days now.

It seems the SSD isn't configured as a bootable drive. I might need to reset it and try again. I'm not sure how to adjust the settings, so I'm using the automatic installer instead.
