There are at least 40€ more on 3600 units compared to where I live. A solid Black Friday offer at 3200 makes it tough to beat that price. I already own a decent aftermarket cooler, so upgrading shouldn’t be necessary. The 3600 seems capable of handling gaming needs. Would you suggest going for the 3700x instead?

R5 3600 meets the needs, remains outstanding. I’d only receive the 3700 if you prioritize heavy multitasking such as streaming or playing intense DX12 titles while watching others on another screen. The 3700 offers a slight edge for multitasking, but the 3600 is likely sufficient overall. I mentioned this mainly because Borderlands 3’s value is important—otherwise, the 3600 might feel a bit too expensive. Consider it if BL3 adds significant value; otherwise, go with 3600 for better performance without overspending. A 3200 CL16 should still run well, especially since I upgraded from 2x4GB 2933 CL17 which worked fine. Just noted Ripjaws availability in your area could be useful, as they often have good deals on Ryzen 3000 models.

Seems like a solid opportunity to invest in 3600. 3200 CL16 (16-18-18) and 3600 CL19-20-20-40.

If the price matches and you don’t care about the die type or timing details, just get the 3600 version. I only noticed this because I briefly saw a 3600 CL model with extremely fast tertiary timings in the past. The 18-20-20 isn’t very quick, but it’s great for plug-and-play convenience.

I noticed a test indicating PCI-E 3.0 x8 offers only a slight performance hit (about 3%) on an RTX 2080 Ti. It seems we're still far from Gen 3.0 x16 becoming a bottleneck for graphics cards. I'd prefer a B450 board to skip the heavy cooling that many X570 models need.
