Hi everyone, I started my own rig in 2020 using an ITX platform (new to me) and quickly noticed how slow my write speeds were. I was assuming the speed limitations came from the large files on my main SSD NVME. Recently, I ran out of space and upgraded to an external NVME. On the main SSD, I’m seeing write speeds around 95 MB/s, while my OS drive on the back gives 150 MB/s. The external NVME is delivering about 500 MB/s. Considering their listed speeds, I’d expect much higher performance—around 2000 MB/s or more. Between the boards on the board, I’m getting about 1.2 GB/s. I think I might have missed a BIOS setting somewhere. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! My specs are: X570 ITX Auros Pro Wifi, 32 GB DDR4 RAM, AMD Ryzen 3700X, 2070 Super.
SD cards are incredibly slow, limiting your performance based on their read speeds.
Switching between NVMe drives will limit your performance significantly. USB connections are likely to restrict your speed.
