Hello, I tried to replace my system with a Samsung 980 PRO Gen.4, 1TB NVMe M.2 drive. After installation, it didn’t appear in BIOS or Windows. I updated the BIOS and used a different M.2 slot, but the issue persists. Any suggestions? Thanks!

If the device isn't detected in a slot that worked before, it might mean the drive is faulty.

Hi, I haven't tried the M.2 ports before—I've been using a regular SATA SSD until now.

Are you certain the M2 was installed properly? It's not that complicated, but...

Sure, if you've checked other slots then the likelihood it's not that one is very low. Do you have another PC to connect and test the drive there?

It appears the M.2_1 Samsung SSD 980 PRO 1TB shows up during startup but isn't visible in BIOS or Windows settings. Attached images confirm this behavior.

It's a fresh drive... probably okay. I don't have another PC with a M.2 slot, so it might be an compatibility issue or I missed checking the correct setting in the BIOS.

It's unusual you're encountering this. Most things work out of the box without needing any adjustments. Compatibility issues shouldn't arise since Samsung isn't a major player in this regard. You wouldn't need someone with a PC and an m.2 slot to try it out.

I placed an order for a M.2 USB C adapter to check its functionality... it should be delivered tomorrow. It's strange it shows up on the boot screen, yet it isn't listed in BIOS or Windows settings...
