Is your board designed to adjust the multispeed settings? I’m not sure if 5520 supports that, aside from the SR-2 which is a specialized OC board with some modifications by EVGA. What speed are you aiming for?

Intel extreme tuning or throttlestop should function effectively. Achieving 4ghz is straightforward and realistic based on what I observe. The comparisons I've watched between stock and overclocked setups clearly demonstrate a significant improvement.

These chips really shine from around 4 to 4.2, and most can handle higher speeds with the right board or cooler. XTU/Throttlestop also supports adjusting the uncore clocks, which is key for getting X58 chips faster. I’ve only done overclocking on boards made specifically for that purpose, so I haven’t tried any of these tools.

I don't agree with that. It seems to work mainly for turbo mode. I might be mistaken. I tried it on my laptop with an i7-4710hq and it performed reasonably well.
