I've been managing this board for two years now. It's running with a 3950x/3600 "b" die Corsair memory, and I've been using BIOS 3.90 since its release. This morning I updated to the new BIOS 4.60 which includes 5000 series support, just in case I ever need a 5000 processor later. After rebooting, my memory stayed below 2666 even at different voltages, and neither of the Ethernet connections worked. Reloading drivers didn't help. When I went back to BIOS 3.90 everything functioned properly again. It doesn't really matter much in the long term—tomorrow I'll replace this setup with a 5950x/6900XT/X570 Tomahawk, and the 3950x will serve as my backup. Just wanted to share my thoughts on this BIOS update for this board.
Several MOBOs faced problems with the new AMD BIOS for the 5000 release. There are whispers that AMD delayed shipping the BIOS and continues to make adjustments privately. My Gigabyte Aorus X570 Extreme has a slow second M.2 drive even after updating to the latest BIOS, which is confirmed as a known issue. It seems we might need to wait until at least Q2 next year for everything to be resolved properly.
