i used a 1950x setup with a gpu and three m.2 slots, all filled. when i tried to connect more sata ports, windows would freeze into an infinite boot screen. this only happened when the third m.2 slot was in use. there’s no documentation explaining why this occurs, but it seems to depend on which slot is active.
