Absolutely, it's the DLC that forces developers to pay for work. DRM-protected mods are basically a poor choice from Bethesda's development side.

I clarify. If the company simply released the game as a patch or free add-on, I’ve already paid for the whole thing. I don’t like DLCs at all. If it’s something more, follow the approach of the Dishonored team—launch a cheaper alternative. That’s perfectly okay.

At first I thought you were saying Bethesda's games were shitty then I realized you were referring to the workshop. I mean a lot of Bethesda staff use to be modders and they are really good at giving out modding tools which is great.

I believe the issue with Asus Killer centers on whether third parties should charge for modifications, not on ethical concerns.

He creates extensive war modifications and receives contributions via my payment platform. One mod has around 40,000 downloads, with just one donation of a dollar.

I’m willing to contribute a significant boost to the game, though it won’t be huge. It really comes down to the price and its impact. I don’t usually give out donations unless I’ll actually use it often.

I consider DLC acceptable when it enhances the experience. I really liked all the Skyrim DLCs because they expanded the game significantly. Shivering Isles stood out as my top favorite, bringing a lot of value to the game.

Just because it's downloaded doesn't guarantee quality. It's hard to say for sure, but people do tend to give generously when they enjoy it.

Bethesda's Games Workshop offers both a modding tool and a marketplace for user-created content. It's similar to the Creation Club you referenced, though it provides more resources and options beyond just downloads.

It would rely completely on the specific version of the 'mod'. For instance, Black Mesa is a mod, yet significant time and effort were invested in its creation, which is why I purchased it on Steam.
