Would a high DPI mouse enhance your gaming experience?
I've got a mouse and I'm fine with it. I'm just wondering why companies promote such high dpi numbers—like 16000—when most people use 1000 or 3000. It's curious, but I want to understand if high dpi actually adds value in gaming or anything else.
It's the same reason they make 240 hz monitors when there is almost no benefit over 144hz ones, they make $80 steaks when most people can't tell the difference between that and a $20 one. Marketing and advertising. Larger numbers means better to those that don't look into things too closely. There is a reason people ask about clock speeds without looking at anything...
High DPI isn't always the best choice for gaming. Sometimes a lower DPI works better. In FPS games, high DPI helps with movement but can hinder precise aiming. You can adjust the DPI setting to enhance your experience.
