I'm planning to purchase my gaming rig soon, around late June after finishing school (8th June). It will have a B450 motherboard for a 3600 MHz clock speed. I found information about the B550, which should be available by June 21st. However, I don't need PCIe Gen4 but might consider one in the future if I want an SSD with PCIe Gen4 support. I'm curious about the expected price of these components. A decent B450 is around $100, and I won't exceed that budget. Thanks ahead and sorry for the unclear English.

We can't predict product pricing or future costs due to the pandemic. If you don’t need PCI4, there’s no point in trying. By the time you need it, you’ll likely already be upgrading to a new motherboard/CPU, as AM4 will soon be obsolete.

I prefer to wait for the Ryzen 4000 instead of the B550.

It's just a few months. It's not that long at all.

Is the delay worth it? The gap between Ryzen 3000 and 4000 is quite noticeable.

It's impossible to say for sure.
