I purchased a 10700kf last December. I monitor my temperatures regularly, and lately they've been hitting the low 80s. This isn't something I'm used to seeing, especially with my older 4690 chips. Are these normal? I own a beQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4 cooler, which usually keeps things in the 80s. However, if I decide to lower the voltage, which experts suggest is necessary since Intel chips often overvolt unnecessarily, how do I do that? My board is an ASRock Z490 mini with a Lian Li TU150 case. I have noctura fans on both front and back, drawing air from the front and pushing it out through the back, matching the CPU fans. All fans run in PWM mode. I've already tried setting the CPU to an offset of -100, but it doesn't make a difference. I also attempted a fixed voltage of 1.250, but the monitor still shows around 1.355 regardless. I double-checked the BIOS settings and they're correct. I can lower the clock speed, but at 4.2ghz it's still reaching low 70°C during games. The room temperature is around 68-71°F. I'm curious about newer tech and how to reliably apply an undervolt.
If you haven’t already customized it, inspect the mount and check the case cooling. However, an OC 10700 tends to get extremely hot, and a powerful CPU can easily surpass even the strongest air coolers. Still, 80°C isn’t as high as I’ve heard them handling. From what I remember, they begin throttling around 90°C. Temperatures will gradually reduce CPU performance, and the faster it gets, the quicker the decline, though it happens very slowly. Even with a throttled CPU, the chip will remain largely functional for a long time before becoming nearly unusable. Just letting it sit is still an option.

I don't see any VR VOUT output. I've verified the cooler mount—it's secure. I'm sure the paste application is correct. I've repeated this process many times across different devices. Running Prime95 for roughly 20 minutes shows a peak temperature of 81°C. It seems acceptable, though I've heard a lot about lowering voltage on these chips.
It varies; exceeding 1.3v during operation can really complicate cooling efforts.
