Seeking a CPU with over 16 cores, preferably more than 24, supporting hexa or octa-channel RAM, and strong clock speeds. Preference is for used Xeons, threadrippers, or EPICs. Intended use includes CAD and computational fluid dynamics. Budget remains tight.

My signature lab might be handy. Xeons from socket 2011 are reasonably priced and offer solid performance.
