Hey there, I’m trying to find a workstation in the 550-700 € range for my friend. He mainly needs it for Photoshop, Lightroom, and some video rendering—gaming isn’t a priority. Right now I have a setup with a Ryzen 3600, RX570, 16GB RAM, and a 500GB M2 SSD, which costs around 550-600 €. There’s still room to upgrade either the CPU or the GPU. If I want a better GPU, I’m considering a RX580 or GTX 1660. For a stronger CPU, maybe I should hold off until the Ryzen 5600 (X?) comes out next month. I’ve heard single-core performance matters for Photoshop, but I’m not sure if that upgrade will count. What do you think? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Ryzen has achieved significant improvements, especially in IPC, making it competitive with Intel at comparable prices. Instead of the RX570, consider a budget Radeon Pro (like WX3200) or a Quadro Card for 10-bit color and professional drivers. I’ve been using a W4100 with a 10-bit display and calibration—it performs excellently. Right now, I’m running three Asus ProArt 24" 1080p monitors without problems. Another choice is increasing storage capacity; 500MB should suffice for the OS but will consume quickly with raw files.
