Hello! I just purchased an old 4948 10gig from eBay and need some guidance. I followed the reset instructions but made an error, so now I keep encountering this message: ******** The system will autoboot now ********** config-register = 0x2142 Autobooting using BOOT variable specified file.... Could not locate a valid file in BOOT environment variable. BOOT settings can be adjusted from the IOS interface. To see the current ROM monitor variables, type 'set' command. For assistance with boot options, try 'confreg' command. rommon 1 >

confreg 0x2102 boot
This will initiate boot from the first file and maintain configuration flow.

You can set the boot option once during setup instead of repeating it each time.

After powering on the switch, enter configuration mode and input 'config-register 0x2102', then save the settings.

Each time you enter 'configure terminal', it triggers the same response.

Type 'en' to be redirected to the correct location. (After that it will switch to Switch#)

You executed the command and now need to input it each time. Steps were: 'en' 'config-register 0x2102', 'exit', 'write mem', then restart the system.

Remember to configure the boot variable. After restarting, open "dir," then "conf t," and finally "boot system flash:" followed by your image name. Save the changes and reload.
