Hello, your question is clear. It's possible to run Windows 7 on an SSD for older programs and Windows 10 on an HDD for AAA games.

All functions that run on Windows 7 should operate smoothly on Windows 10.

It makes sense why it would function. Could you try placing both on the SSD and setting up your programs in different partitions on the HDD?

Paintshop Pro Photo X2 functions well on Win7, but struggles on Win10. The closing behavior remains consistent regardless of whether you press Ctrl+Q or click the X button in the top right corner. The window disappears from the taskbar, but the program continues running. Restarting the computer or using Task Manager is necessary to restart the process manually. Compatibility settings and updates don't resolve the issue. This problem also occurs in Win8.1. JASC Animation Shop 3 has experienced frequent crashes on Win10 as well. I haven't encountered any issues with it on Win7, and I haven't tested the latest releases beyond the initial version. I prefer not to test new versions whenever updates are released.

Cut your SSD in half and start from there. Use the OS you prefer. If needed, move apps to the HDD. It’s much better this way. You can also transfer your files—downloads, documents, photos, etc.—to the HDD to free up space.
