Hi everyone, I'm searching for a tablet suitable for professional use to fully digitize my paper notes. I frequently engage in discussions where I need to capture conversations or annotate engineering drawings on-site. I currently rely on MS OneNote for managing my projects. I need a device that supports using a stylus to convert handwritten notes into typed text via OCR. Ideally, this should work seamlessly within OneNote, or I can send the converted files afterward. My goal is to minimize the time spent typing after taking notes.

I also want to annotate PDFs or JPEGs with handwritten text using the stylus, then download the annotated versions to my computer. Having these marked-up files translated by OCR would be ideal, though it’s not a must.

I’m aiming for the most cost-effective solution that still delivers strong performance, with a budget of around $500. I’m open to spending less if it meets my needs.

Thanks in advance!

Have you checked the Surface website?
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/surface
You should be able to locate a good older (used or refurbished) model that fits your requirements and budget.

I was planning to suggest Surface, until I reached the $500 budget.
But checking Amazon, some older or refurbished versions fit that range.
