Right now my laptop is running on my PC. I just got Team Viewer installed last night so I could use my computer while relaxing. I woke up a few hours ago and started working. Suddenly it froze completely and didn’t respond at all. That’s not unusual. I’m pushing the machine beyond its limits (it’s a new build). I know turning it off isn’t ideal, but I’m not convinced that’s the problem. I use Google Chrome and visit many sites for fun, work, and I keep lots of extensions open with multiple tabs. I regularly clear my cache and cookies, have Restoro as my antivirus, and don’t download torrents or stream movies/shows. I recently removed CCleaner and use Windows Defender plus Kaspersky Anti-Virus.

I’m wondering what’s happening on your end and why most people seem to avoid Russia now. RESTORO is reporting an issue with Kaspersky, but I thought it was a false positive. After freezing this morning, I restarted the PC. My profile name appeared, but the background image changed noticeably from what it has been for over two months. I got a message saying “We can't sign into your account” and ended up signing into a temporary profile. In the TEMP profile’s CMD prompt I ran regedit, deleted my Temp folder, and removed the .bak file from my main directory. After restarting, this resolved the problem for me.

I’m now running a system scan with Windows Defender and found nothing. I’m using RESTORO to try and fix it. If it doesn’t work, I’ll reboot and see if that helps. Please let me know what details or screenshots you need so I can include them.

It seems your profile was affected in some way. Consider setting up a fresh account with a different name (like RKD2314). Once done, you can move your files from the previous profile folder. If Chrome isn't linked to a Google account, you might transfer its folders from the hidden AppData area to your new account. Just be careful not to rename folders completely—Windows and earlier versions don’t fully erase data this way. There’s also a registry entry you’ll need to remove; look for a path under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList and delete it only after confirming your setup is correct. Don’t forget to back up anything before proceeding.

After restarting, the system guides you to the Log In screen. Your account name remains visible, and your PIN functions correctly for login, though it redirects you to a new profile. Your data was backed up to an external drive (DSmile, which should hold around 29GB. I’m still confused about RESTORO Software. Each time it runs, it appears to resolve issues such as crashed programs, malware, and junk files. Currently, it’s addressing broken registry entries. The interface shows registry paths like HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion, but I can’t see much beyond that. Is RESTORO blocking full recovery of my profile or desktop? There are many hidden processes at work, but seeing 470 broken registry entries in just five minutes after a reboot is puzzling. If I still have my files—especially if I copied the right folder to D:—but my desktop looks different and apps don’t remember anything, what went wrong? What did I lose?
