Hello! Not sure if this has been talked about in the forums as of yet so I wanted to shout it out. Ameliorated, that Linus already has a video about, recently released a new, fully open-source software called the AME Wizard. It allows a clean, stock install of Windows to get tweaked in a few clicks using what's called Playbooks, which essentially are a list of tasks/tweaks in YAML format. This is a huge step to move away from shady custom ISO's and instead distribute tweaks in a neat package that can be applied on a trusted base install! It will also allow for manual/automatic updates among other things. Important : The software still is in beta , and in my experience still has a few issues . However testing is appreciated and you can report issues on their telegram and/or GitHub I believe. Link : https://ameliorated.io/

You can definitely use the wizard during installation. It will guide you through the setup process, and it won’t delete any of your data.

Can we get back to the standard setting? I wasn’t aware it would turn off Windows Defender. It seemed similar to a privacy-focused patch version, but I missed the name.

Understand the functionality first before applying it. The current method of using the AME wizard cannot be undone. For a more straightforward experience, I suggest choosing ReviOS instead of Atlas and AME because they offer a contemporary GUI with easy on/off controls for features like defender and UAC.
