It's a 15-watt chipset. Either it has a large heatsink or a small fan. They chose the cheaper option with a fan. Probably not fans from the past when mainboards weighed over 40 pounds.
When no date is available and it doesn't fit, it seems this isn't suitable for immediate use.
I understand this point. Used to rely on chipset fans since heat pipes weren’t common back then. Plus, PCB layout often requires fans too. In the past, aftermarket heat sinks were available. I don’t think they’re offered now because modders and enthusiasts are a small segment. It makes sense not to create something that won’t be in demand.
